Studio Amal is the brand and design practice of Marylouise George (formerly Marylouise McGraw Design) — "Amal" being a nickname she acquired during her art school years and has held affectionately ever since. 

As a freelance graphic designer, Marylouise works independently as well as alongside other creative partners to bring you creative solutions that are equally intelligent and alluring. Having spent 5 years at IDEO, she honed her skills as a brand strategist, marrying her love for visual storytelling with a strategic lens for business and brand development.

She has kept a freelance practice for almost a decade, serving non-profit and small business clients like DigDeep Water, Bella Primary Care, and the Hildebrand Project. While at IDEO, Marylouise worked on a wide range of challenges alongside client teams: from purpose-led strategy projects for Cadillac Fairview, Sony, Steelcase, and Cornell University, developing new brand and engagement platforms for The Lawrence Hall of Science, Verizon, YouTube, and Gilead, to designing and launching values-based socialization efforts for internal initiatives at Salesforce, GAP Inc., Cadillac Fairview, and Steelcase.
